While the east coast has been preparing for the historical Hurricane Irene, we had our own little hurricane this week. Hurricane Rylie. Here is what this hurricane looks like when it blows through...
Rylie has started making some new noises recently. Some good, some not so good. One of them is her new scream. It's unlike anything I've ever heard and brings tears to my eyes, especially when I see the tears come rolling down her face. I don't cry from frustration or anger, it just makes me so sad to see her so upset. It's gut wrenching, she can't breathe, you can just feel her using every ounce of her being to make this noise.
When the storm rolls through we try everything, feeding, burping, changing, rocking, singing...you name it. Seems the only thing that helps is getting her moving in the stroller. We don't need to go far. Rylie is content just rolling down the hallway. But still we take her for a walk around the block and by the time we get home she is sound asleep and we leave her in the stroller until she wakes up again.
But once the hurricane passes we see sunny skies and a big smile on our baby's face. This is when she makes my favorite noises and the cutest faces...
Her daddy sure can get her laughing with his silly voices and tickles. She loves him.
Busy week this week. Rylie met Ana for the first time...so exciting. We also went to the mall, visited daddy at work, went to mommy's work, lunch at Red Robin with Ana and the kids, and story time with Kelsey and Sherri. Now Grandma is here and brought us lots of presents. The fun never ends.
Hopefully this screaming business will pass and we'll have our happy little girl back soon.
